Easy and Yummy Energy Bites: Dried Cherry Almond Balls

Energy bites are a great snack for any time. They can be made in advance to grab on the go, or even given as gifts! These tart cherry almond balls make an especially nice treat around Valentine's Day.

That is because they include tart dried cherries (it would also work well with sweet cherries), almonds that provides protein, fiber and healthy fats; oats which boosts energy thanks to its combination of carbohydrates; honey contains vitamins C & E, magnesium, potassium and iron; brown sugar has calcium; flax seeds have omega-three fatty acids which helps reduce inflammation within the body while providing antioxidant protection from free radicals all helping you stay energized.

 Ingredients

* Oats (about one cup)

* Nature's Garden Tart Cherries (a half cup or so, but it depends on how tart you like them)

* Almonds (again about a half cup for these many oats, but again that is your personal preference)

* Honey

* Brown sugar

* Flax seeds

Directions: Combine all ingredients in a food processor. Once well combined roll into bite-sized balls and enjoy! Yields about 12 energy bites depending on the size.
